Welcome
Welcome to the web site of Hereward Cooke in Norwich, England.
Before you ask, my first name derives from the last Anglo-Saxon to fight against the Normans, Hereward the Wake, as he defended the Isle of Ely (now in Cambridgeshire) in 1069. There are not many of us about, although the present-day Wake family keep the name alive in style!
The web-site describes two features of my present situation. The first as an ordained priest in the Church of England and secondly as a Norwich City Councillor.
If you would like to contact me please use the "Your Voice" page. I do not welcome any commercial approaches but genuine messages of interest with ideas are accepted and will, if time permits, be answered.

As a Councillor
My membership of Norwich City Council is described on this page. It will include information about my role at City Hall as well as the Ward Councillor for Lakenham. I hope visitors will wish to send me ideas and comments about the way the Council is and could be operating.

AS A PRIEST
This page provides information about my role within the Church of England in the Diocese of Norwich. This is now largely restricted to being the priest-in-charge at St Stephen`s Church, Norwich as described below.
I also serve on the Norwich Diocesan Synod, the Norwich Cathedral Chapter of Honorary Canons, Norwich East Deanery Synod, the ecumenical organisations such as the Federation of Anglican Churches Together, Norwich Central Churches Together and Transforming Norwich and the Council of Management of the Norfolk Churches Trust.
